ARTIFICIAL INSEMINATION PROCEDURE
- Send us the completed booking form with a cheque for the stud fee + £80.00 as deposit and postage/carrier for an Equitainer. Any money remaining after recovering these costs will be reimbursed after the return of the Equitainer.
- Find an experienced A.I Vet local to you and have your mare examined.
- Plan when you will want to inseminate her.
- Tell us the approx. date of the first day of the season in which you wish to inseminate her.
- Have your Vet examine/scan the Mare. He will then decide when he needs the semen.
- Let us know the day and time you need the semen to arrive. eg. for a 10 am delivery we need to know by the latest 12 noon the previous day. Unfortunately we cannot deliver on sundays or bank holidays unless you can collect or arrange the collection yourself.
- When the semen arrives it should be inseminated altogether because it will remain more viable inside rather than outside the mare. Please remember to return the Equitainer as soon as possible.
- Please let us know when you have received the semen, inseminated the mare, checked and confirmed she has ovulated and retuned the Equitainer.
